Averatec 18.4-inch All-In-One PC

Averatec, a rarely surfacing company have come up with a good All-in-one PC for an affordable price. The company founded in 1984 has been making low-end notebooks based on Intel Celeron and AMD Turion x64 equivalent. The $490 general purpose All-in-One is a good blend of performance and price.

The 18.4-inch system is powered by 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor and 1GB DDR2 memory. Extra RAM of up to 2GB can be ordered. The Averatec device features an 18.4″ LCD screen having glossy finish and a glossy black bezel with an integrated webcam on the top. The screen supports resolution of 1680×945 pixels. The package includes a dual-layer DVD burner and a 5400 RPM, 160GB SATA hard drive. The package uses Intel 945MS graphics solution with ICH7 chipset. The network connectivity is supported by 802.11b/g WLAN Wi-Fi and 10/100 LAN port. The system comes with Windows XP Home Edition preinstalled.

The PC has a chrome accent strip with two small LEDs and six function buttons. The PC also has MMC/SD/Memory Stick card reader, audio in/out jacks, five high-speed USB 2.0 ports and a VGA out port.

The exterior design is unique and the display can be mounted with screw holes on the bottom. The screen can be raised and lowered easily. The screen can be tilted in 90 degrees to provide ultimate movie experience at home.

This product from Averatec is surely one of the best budget AIOs. But if you don’t care about compact design, there are other powerful machines available for almost the same prize.
